I am an award winning, Certified Emergency Manager and academic faculty member specializing in emergency preparedness, crisis management and higher education emergency management. Currently, I serve as an Emergency Manager at one of the major national oil and gas companies in the Middle East and the GCC region. He recently served as a senior faculty member at of the leading national emergency management academic institute in UAE. Previously, He was responsible for the comprehensive Emergency Management program at multiple national oil and gas, government sector in the GCC region.
Over the past 23 years, I have worked in three continents and eight countries. Currently I live in Qatar. I have served two major national oil and gas companies, one public higher education institution, one government department and one major international airline in the fields of emergency management, risk management and business continuity.
I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Florida International University in 1997, Osama went on to pursue graduate level technology degree at the George Washington University, earning a Master of Science Degree in 2001. He also earned a post graduate diploma from Florida State University specializing in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. He pursed his Doctorate Degree in Knowledge Management from Brunel University London and earned a Ph.D. in 2018.
I have pursued every available opportunity to teach at the college level. I have developed and instructed several academic courses in the area of emergency management, business continuity, management and information technology.
Similar to my interdisciplinary teaching activities, I am enthusiastic about research in many areas. In particular, I am interested in knowledge management, risk, emergency, crisis and safety management, I have published in several leading journals in areas of emergency information management, management and technology.
